Because many adults don’t acknowledge that they are a part of their kids’ learning expperience.
They assume that kids will magically become smarter the second they turn 18, and don’t understand that kids have to be exposed to information and some adversity before then (ideally with guidance from parents) to learn enough.
Social media is very addictive, because it’s designed that way… so let’s regulate the social media and their intentionally addictive practices, rather than blaming kids and ripping them away from some of the only “socialization” our society allows kids to have.
“Go bike to your friend’s house” doesn’t work, because the last two generations have built eight-game highways everywhere.

I came here to say this, but you best me to it. 😁
Also “You Don’t Love Me Anymore”.

…so just use the word “M’kay”!

I’ve done it straight through a few times when I was younger, but never cleanly. It’s damn hard.

Even 23 years later…
I’m goin’, yes I’m goin’ (I’m a-goin’ to the) Goin’ to the (hard!) We’re goin’ (really goin’ to the) Goin’ to the, goin’ to the (hard!) Yes I’m goin’ to the HARDWARE STORE…

Metric. I’ve had my phone set up to display the temperature in Celsius for the last ~8 years so that I can get a sense of it without doing math all the time.
Corporal Punishment Sucks.
Definitely. It’s why I only milk bulls.

But… but… Clinton’s emails! Banghazi! Woke! What about those dangers to our society? Why aren’t we talking about that?!
…/s, obviously.
If there’s a legitimate health and safety concern, I’m not saying a parent can’t say no, but a parent telling a kid their expression has to be limited by their parents’ own biases is too far. So… no playing tag on the freeway, but a parent shouldn’t be able to tell a kid to expeess themselves in ways they don’t want to or follow a religion they don’t want to follow.
In the US when I was growing up, some kids got kicked out of their homes for being queer or for not being “Christian” enough. This is what comes to mind.
Everyone (including kids and teens) should have full bodily autonomy. This includes how they express gender. Parents should not be allowed to circumcise/mutilate their kids’ genitals for reasons that aren’t medically necessary, nor should they be allowed to lay their hands on their kids in a violent way (and yes, that includes “only” spanking). Parents who hit/spank their kids should be charged with assault and child abuse.
Kids and teens having basic rights might not be controversial here, but in the rural area that I’m from, it certainly is.
How to say you’re from Vermont without saying you’re from Vermont. 😁

She’s a moog pioneer. And she collaborated with Al in '88.
A lot of people don’t know that Al was on a Brian Wilson track in the early 1990s, “Let’s Stick Together” (it later became “The Waltz”).

His stuff from the mid '70s is rough, but it’s still pretty funny.

There have only been 4 artists to have a Top 40 single in each of the last 4 decades ('80s, '90s, '00s, and '10s).
(In that order.)

I wish that album were still in print. You can easily “acquire” a digital copy, but it would be nice to own the physical record.
A great collab with Wendy Carlos.

Honestly, I sometimes even rock out to “Belvidere Crusin’” (1976).
Careful… don’t get the Trump crowd too excited, now.
