To me also, but I guess it’s a way to tell folks who could otherwise say things out of ignorance that break your heart, and avoid having to tell the latest part of the story over and over all day to those who do know and care.
And for those who believe it would help, it’s a way to marshal the power of prayers/good wishes of more people. Did it help my friend’s baby survive cancer for me to shout curses at the blastoma cells whenever I drove past the hospital? Who knows?
