I was so afraid to delete my #facebook account. 15 years I lived with this fear in my heart. I was afraid that my ties with friends and family would be severed. I was afraid that I would miss out on the latest events and cultural trends. I was following intellectuals, university professors, entrepreneurs, artists...I had an entire feed with content from quality people and notifications about real life events where I could meet these people were popping up all the time. How could I give up on this treasure? I would be devastated even if I tried. Of course everything had sprinkles of annoying adds and toxic far right content that I never asked for pushed down my throat by the all might algorithm. When I heard that moderation and protection for lgbtq were to be scrapped I made my decision. On the 1st of February 2025 I delete it and I felt no pain at all. On the contrary, the feeling of relief and "good riddance to bad rubbish" still lasts to day. #deletefacebook #facebook #zuckerberg
