I think his analysis on the Piastri, Antonelli, Leclerc incident is spot on. He explains why according to the rules it’s a penalty and then makes his argument why it shouldn’t have been a penalty. I think the guidelines should’ve been more lenient because now it sets a bad precedent. Instead of driving safe drivers are supposed to take the more dangerous route of playing chicken with the driver on the outside to make sure they’re either alongside or ahead at the apex.

    The rules are either stupid or interpreted too ad literam.

    Piastri was on the inside and he had nowhere else to go. By braking hard to avoid a crash he got himself penalized.

    According to the rules, had he sent it like a madman and crashed into Kimi that would have been fine because he’d be ahead at the apex - that’s just stupid and counter intuitive.
