Hi everyone!
I’m a Playstation owner and I’ve been playing Gran Turismo 7 since its launch.
I mostly play offline and I really enjoy the driving but the lack of a real carreer mode with a championship, good AI and standings is getting me bored.
Hopefuly AC Evo will still be launched on Playstation 5 in 2025, but no one really knows.
As sadly, Poliphony isn’t gonna launch a career mode DLC, I’m really tempted to get another racing game in order to wait.
Asseto Corsa and Asseto Corsa Competizione are the 2 choices I’m seeing as I already have Project Cars 2.
Which one would you buy, keeping in mind that I’m mostly an offline player and that I wouldn’t want the graphics to be much worse than GT7?
I watched a few videos about AC Evo and I think your last comment about graphics might be the decider here. I personally think GT7 has much better graphics than a lot of the competition. I also have been playing GT7, mostly offline, since I got a PS5 a couple of years ago. I’ve tried AC and it felt dated, to me personally. I have downloaded ACC and haven’t played it yet but from what I’ve seen of Evo (and I know it’s an early access thing at the mo), the lighting is flat, the AI isn’t brilliant, and the driving apparently feels a bit weird in a few of the available cars.
You should definitely get the original AC. I know it looks a bit dated, and is pretty limited on PS without the mods, but it’s usually pretty cheap and feels great to drive. Even if you do nothing else, it’s great for hot lapping the Nordschleife, although you’ll probably have some fun with online Mx-5 racing too. I’m not a huge fan of ACC personally, FFB feels pretty numb to me, but the AI racing is good, and the championship options can be interesting. It helps if you are a fan of SRO.
If you’ve only played gt7 going to ACC is probably the worst idea you could have unless you’re trying to ruin your enjoyment of sim racing. Start with Assetto, get the ultimate edition for $5 on sale, and learn how to drive in a simulator. The graphics should not be your concern. Get AC, do the career mode, decide if you actually like racing. If you are competent on a wheel in assetto then your options are limitless but you need to have the skill to drive an actual car first. GT7 is the furthest thing from a good introduction.
