I’d agree if Epstein Files were only involving Americans, which is definitely far from being the case

Programmer Humor@programming.dev•The official Introduction to Github page included an AI-generated graphic with the phrase "continvoucly morged" on it, among other mistakes.
17·16 days agoI absolutely love the fact that we’ll most likely never get rid of stuff like that in AI generated content. There will always be things that are wrong/wonky with it.
The problem is when they start making it acceptable to the masses

1·1 month agoFair, markdown, git and pandoc could work but, it might be too big of a jump for someone used to Word

Selfhosted@lemmy.world•Self-hosting paradox: Windows for specifically MS wordEnglish
11·1 month agoIs Word mandatory or is Word compatible good enough ?
Because LibreOffice is pretty good, you could even push it further with pandoc, inputting markdown and outputting word documents.
Otherwise, as others suggested, Wine with an older Office version should do the trick

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What is the most controversial TV finale?
451·5 months agoGame of Thrones went from a worldwide cultural phenomenon to barely a footnote pretty much overnight. That says a ton on how disappointingly the show ended.

Selfhosted@lemmy.world•Which operating system should I choose?English
3·5 months agoDefinitely not beginner friendly. Yunohost is great for beginners.
I’m a tech guy, I work with it all day everyday, I love it and what we can do with it. But I also absolutely hate what’s being done with it. I love the tech behind generative AI, LLMs, automation, computers in general, Linux, etc. But man, when I see the shit being pulled by tech companies and governments, it makes my blood boil, and I’m genuinely terrified for the future. We could do so much better…
So probably a strong -6

Programmer Humor@programming.dev•Why shouldn't you use YAML to store eye tracking data? /s
13·8 months agoI really like YAML but way too many people use it beyond its purpose… I work with Gitlabci and seeing complex bash scripts inline in YAML files makes me want to hurt people.

Selfhosted@lemmy.world•New server for the family, Proxmox or TrueNAS, LXC or Docker?English
18·9 months agoI’d not recommend Synology anymore, as they’re starting to implement vendor lock on their drives and NAS boxes. As in, you’ll have to use their drives for the Nas to work.
So much wisdom already!

Programmer Humor@programming.dev•The future of web development is AI. Get on or get left behind.
32·10 months agoYeah but it’s different this time!
Well, TB, GB, MB are decimal (powers of 10). TiB, GiB, MiB are binary (powers of 2). So that’s correct.

I’m pretty sure Fallout fans would also not like it. The Fallout world is absolutely atrocious
