I’d heavily disagree. Less of a shower thought, more of a cry for help. Reach out do anyone, you’d be surprised by who is willing to listen.

Chippys_mittens@lemmy.worldOPto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What was incarceration like for you?1·2 days agoI’d agree processing significant PTSD should be left to specialist. I worked with a specialist in EMDR for a couple years to help treat mine. I’ll say I do disagree with not participating in any talk therapy though. Typically PTSD isnt the only issue an individual may have. Talking through other non traumatic issues can be extremely beneficial for mental health.
Chippys_mittens@lemmy.worldOPto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What was incarceration like for you?2·2 days agoSounds like a shitty experience to go through, especially as a young person. Glad you’re out on the other side of it now!
Chippys_mittens@lemmy.worldOPto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What was incarceration like for you?1·2 days agoThat’s what it sounds like, brutal! I know alcohol withdrawal can straight up just kills you. But I’ve also heard of dehydration killing people withdrawing from opiates.
Chippys_mittens@lemmy.worldOPto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What was incarceration like for you?1·2 days agoGreat answer thanks! I have heard that being clean and smelling good is actually really important in jail. The ignorance in me couldnt initially wrap my head around it but I fully understand now. Sounds like boredom really is the numer 1 enemy in there. It was a jail not a prison right? Did you have a cell or was it bunks in a common area?

Chippys_mittens@lemmy.worldOPto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Should your private messages and group chats be public information?1·3 days agoNot asking because I want it to happen, asking because it feels more and more inevitable.
Chippys_mittens@lemmy.worldOPto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Should your private messages and group chats be public information?2·3 days agoI agree completely
Chippys_mittens@lemmy.worldOPto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What was incarceration like for you?13·3 days agoSounds like a really well run and funded place. Sucks you ended up there but at least it wasn’t hell. Glad you’re out, thanks for sharing your experience!

Chippys_mittens@lemmy.worldOPto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What was incarceration like for you?20·3 days agoCongrats on sobriety. Id love to hear more about the jail super bowl party lol.
Chippys_mittens@lemmy.worldOPto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Should your private messages and group chats be public information?1·3 days agoId agree with that.
Chippys_mittens@lemmy.worldOPto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Should your private messages and group chats be public information?3·3 days agoThat’s a fair statement, I guess it does really boil down to those two questions. The main one in my eyes being the first though. In today’s world with the technology we have, moral or not, is it reasonable to expect privacy in written forms of communication.
Chippys_mittens@lemmy.worldOPto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Should your private messages and group chats be public information?3·3 days agoNever shared an offensive meme when you were younger, made an offensive joke/statement, said something negative about someone?
Chippys_mittens@lemmy.worldOPto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Should your private messages and group chats be public information?1·3 days agoI mean, yeah thats where I’m at. Idk how realistic it is to say it can’t/won’t start happening at some point soon.
Chippys_mittens@lemmy.worldOPto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Should your private messages and group chats be public information?13·3 days agoTo your first point, then youd say private chats being used against you (personally or professionally) is fine because its your fault they able to be hacked/accessed? To your second point, I’m not really talking about actual criminal activity. Any criminal activity can, will and should be used in a judicial context to convict of a crime. I’m mostly speaking about social and professional consequences for private chats.
Chippys_mittens@lemmy.worldOPto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Should your private messages and group chats be public information?4·3 days agoI’d agree what you’ve said.
You’re continuing to make progressively more alarming posts. I wont fully reiterate statements I made previously. I will say, you’re continuing to add ingredients to a plethora of terrible recipes. Please seek professional help and ask these questions. Lemmy is not a stand in for psychiatric advice.
