I think Gene Hackman gave up acting because of the dementia. He acted til he was nearly 75 years old.

Even as far back as Fire Marshall Bill?
Based on your username, I can declare you an expert on the subject matter.
Weigh that against the stress of not having a job or place to live though.
I think they’re saying women can go to UPS to ogle buff men but I don’t think I’ve ever seen a buff male UPS worker/driver.
These both seem like solid middle class purchases.
I feel like this is missing a word or two
I’m almost 40, tall, not in great shape, have bad posture, and have two misaligned disks in my lower back and even my back pain isn’t that bad, so I would say that no it’s not normal. You should definitely get that checked out.
Well a car from 2006 isn’t going to stay pristine forever so it’s no surprise it’s gone down over the past 20 years.
Yeah I’m definitely jealous of the people who have a Microcenter nearby. We had Radio Shack and a Fry’s 45 minutes away and both are gone now. Fry’s came in clutch when my old AM3 backing plate snapped in half and my CPU cooler fell off. They had one in stock and I was able to buy just the backing plate by itself. If I’d gone to Best Buy, they’d probably just look at me weird and tell me I’d need to buy a whole new computer.
I think the Define 5 is a good option as well. I bought the 6 in 2018 because it was new, was white, and only like $99 at the time and it’s served me well. Every couple of years I’d buy some more drive trays as my pool filled up and I needed more space.
I just rebuilt my whole system a couple of months ago but kept the case because it works so well and there isn’t much on the market like it without getting into fullsize cases. It’s nearly silent even with 5 fans and 9 HDDs inside. It sits about 2 feet from me on my desk and I only hear a tiny hum from the fans.
PC Part Picker has filters that will let you set all your requirements and show you what’s available. Since you want ECC and low cost, you might be better off finding options on PCPartPicker and then looking for those items used on ebay.
If you don’t have a case already, you might check out Fractal Design. They have several cases for lots of 3.5" drives. I have a Define 6 and it holds like 12 3.5" and 4 2.5" in a midtower format and it’s constructed really well. You will need to buy additional drive trays though as they only come with 4 I think.
I’ve made a couple electronics orders recently where my order seemingly just slipped into a void somewhere (no confirmation email, no tracking info) and then just showed up at my door two weeks later. I think Amazon has made us all forget what ordering things from the internet used to be like.
I find that hilarious since he and I would get into it quite often and I always found his points to be quite juvenile or superficial (like ignoring 99% of what you say and latching on to one single thing to derail the conversation or make a strawman), but I did respect him for having mod powers and never deleting my comments or banning me in retaliation no matter how heated things got.
Last I heard he moved to the UK because of Trump and was trying to get his family over so he’s probably got his hands full without the near constant presence on Lemmy that he had. I do find it hard to believe that he isn’t still around under another account though with how much time he spent here.
I think also there can be a sense of loss when you’re invested in some characters and they die off in a show or the series ends. It doesn’t seem weird at all to get a bit emotional unless we’re talking about something like Jersey Shore or other reality garbage, but even then that’s just my personal taste so I shouldn’t judge others who might get invested in stuff like that.
How big are these ZFS snapshots compared to the stored data size? 1:1?
After a few times of pulling them, the pain goes away.
With lots of enthusiasm.
I went through the exact same situation with my 20 year old music collection and MusicBrainz Picard and unfortunately this is just the state of music piracy even now as things are rarely tagged correctly or come from compilation albums, sample albums, or are just obscure and don’t have the proper tags available on the service. This is why I don’t mind paying for music streaming even though I selfhost most other media formats because you can put in days of work tagging songs and still have a jumbled mess at the end (Picard’s tagging template is also a huge PITA to use with some obscure legacy language).
