I did, it’s just that our family (including my mother) looked after our things and the phone never got ruined…

Two things:
- the land-line phone handset cord probably got less use than your charger cable.
- look after your things!!! I have never had a USB cable of any kind end up this way. This kind of damage only comes from abusing the heck out of them.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•How do we reduce toxicity on the Fediverse, and on the wider internet?English
22·6 months agoYou can’t. It’s driven broadly by human stupidity, which has been exploited by the rich to make us hate each other over nothing.
This is of course by design so the dissatisfaction people have with society/life/etc gets attributed to each other, instead of the actual source.
The problem is, you can’t make stupid people think.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Would you keep seeing a doctor that required to you agree to the use of AI in your treatment to continue being a patient?English
1·6 months agoThe doctor’s notes will always be better because the doctor is a human who has the sense to ask you to repeat yourself if they didn’t catch what you said.

2·6 months agoI think the first step here is talk to your doctor about it. Say you’re uncomfortable and you don’t want to use it. If they are a decent person as you say, they should accommodate that. Have you actually talked to them about it? Or are you just assuming they will try to force you to agree to it?

3·6 months agoSounds reasonable, until the transcripts end up totally incorrect because the AI misinterpreted something or hallucinated.
A lot better than it is now

I don’t, I believe that in 10 years society will be well on its way to collapse from severe climate events, food shortages, and war. Anyone who pushed AI will be dead along with the data-centers.
