Yeah well I got dragged into keyboard warfare and I make a point to never continue it. This is first mistake of internet. When you see someone being wrong emotionally do not involve yourself. Just spectate

Look at this person I reply to talking something about entitlement misunderstanding everything as much as you can. This is routine

Of course this can be a bad actor in this example but there are so many of these misunderstandings in various contexts that it is painful to read the comments a lot of times

I manage to get people on the web just fine somehow.
Yet still I must observe other people misunderstanding each other and painfully not getting it every second browsed comment.

This problem doesn’t exist in some places on the web that are less civilised and less safe spacey for some reason.

I mean I wouldn’t say they are smarter but in this single aspect maybe they are. It’s painful to say that some 9gag or worse users are more verbally apt

I am not going to hang out in such places. Maybe tumblr if anything. It is pretty witty. Not much text but overall tumblr users seem smooth

Well I get it when I read someone else’s posts and comments which can’t be said for many replies to these aforementioned comments that are absolutely clueless

As an observer I see exchanges that make me die just a little inside

“No I am not stupid. I am just from Germany”

It’s not about me by the way, it is from the perspective of a spectator, a lurker and not about me receiving some kind of response.

I don’t have anything against clarifications and back and forth and I don’t judge anyone

What is the goal of this post is to find people who can relate to my experience of just browsing spez site or more so, lemmy.

I don’t like to be alone in certain things and lemme tell you a lot of you feel very unintuitive to me.
As always with the exception of ADHD communities which every single member feels like I knew them for years no matter which site.

It’s not about my ability this time or lack of it tho.

I am talking about just lurking and seeing other people responses and certain… rigidity. Responding in stiff manner, official speech, missing nuance, explaining something that didn’t need to be explained.

I just generally feel a lot of the times like someone who sees these notorious miscommunications so to say when just spectating various comments.

Best I can describe is that there are only limited responses “fitting” to a particular comment and I notoriously see certain off-vibe when someone responds with a comment that doesn’t fit.
As if they didn’t see that their response feels grating because it doesn’t really fit properly

I like to think I have it too cause otherwise I would have to consider other less interesting options lmao

I still prefer nerdy hipster elitists gatekeepers from greedy corps after all is said and done. The first is unfortunate flaw of human character, the second is a calculated machine. If this is the price to pay then so be it. Individuality often isn’t as nice on the surface as the common but the common often has hidden sinister motives under the comfy, smoothened out rug of user friendliness.

Lonely nerds don’t have PR and marketing teams but also won’t stab you in the back for profit. Sometimes they can be huge assholes though.
