A monetary fine doesn’t seem fitting for an attempt to sabotage a competitor’s race/race start.

I’m smoking weed about it.

This one still blows my mind.

Ah. All the same to me lol 🏴☠️

My guess would be ESPN is taking over streaming in the US.

Well that’s just cool.
Good to see you around
💚 Thanks mate. I’m never too far away. I’ve had more going on IRL lately but I spend most of my time on crazypeople.online communities these days too. Mysteriously the vibe there is right up my alley. 😜
There’s too much in-fighting and drama for it to be dead.

if you’re keen to farm data.
I have enough projects already lol.

I wonder how much of that decrease is a result of instances shutting down and their users migrating off of Lemmy to platforms like PieFed and others. The users may not be completely gone, just not on Lemmy.

!autoracing@crazypeople.online for motorsports.
I’ve been working on a bot to help with serving content to that community but it isn’t ready for deployment yet. Once it’s finished there should be a lot more content being posted more regularly there, but I want to do more testing and tuning before enabling it to make sure it’s not doing more harm than good.

I wasn’t able to catch either practice session. What was the verdict with Fernando? Is he good to race or missing this weekend?
EDIT: I see now he’s on the FP2 classification so he must be good enough to go for it this weekend.

Wow. I wondered if a team principal change was on the cards for the future but a mid season sacking wasn’t on my radar. Makes me wonder- is he the first domino to fall in a Red Bull Racing makeover?

He was very happy when Lando got his first win too. Not sure what the moment last year might have been.

Not his brightest moment.

That’s like the most wholesome F1 thing I’ve ever seen. Ollie seems like a great guy/kid.

I could definitely see Max walking away from F1 for a year or two to be home with his growing family more often. The schedule in F1 is great for fans who want to watch races but otherwise sucks for most of the people who make all the events possible, drivers included.
I wonder if his recent test drive was any indication of what he might want to do in his “spare time” during any potential F1 hiatus… Fun to think about while we wait to see what happens.

The 'stache is actually an aero device designed by Adrian Newey. It provides just the right amount of downforce in the low speed corners.

I like it. The liveries have been looking better and better since they became their own title sponsor again.
Finding/making friends on Lemmy is definitely possible. There are a handful of people I talk to outside of Lemmy every day that I originally met here a couple years ago.
I think it helps tremendously if you can find places to interact with others that are less combative than the news/politics/etc that can dominate the feeds here. If you have personal interests in music, movies, tv, or even just want to have casual conversations, there are plenty of communities for that here. Those places give everyone a chance to “break the ice” on a slightly more personal level that helps develop lasting friendships.
