all keyboards have gotten worse for me. I tried swype when it was new and it was getting better and better until it suddenly tanked. I’m not sure if it was before or after it sold. Then I tried swiftkey and gboard and idk what else but almost every closed and open source keyboard that was free and not obviously malicious.

Gboard was great for a while and I used it for looking up kanji by thumb writing them with typical stroke order and having it deduce usually the correct one while playing ace attorney vs layton back when they said it would never get an english version. It got an english version in the end. The swipe inputs for english and Spanish were excellent but English at least seems to have gotten worse to the point of needing 5+ attempts per word. Also disclaimer: Idon’t actually speak spanish. Manual typing is just mentally draining due to recurring typos that get automatically added to suggestions but not a deletable dictionary entry as far as I can tell. I also don’t trust google at all.

Almost everything else is equally untrustworthy and/or bad, with at best on par manual typing. The foss options with swipe input literally use closed source google modules and are all equally crappy as google.

I was using a ghetto usb knockoff blackberry keyboard for a while but while it is nearly perfect as far as typing goes, it’s also an immensely inconvenient extra accessory that eventually snagged on something and broke.

Basically everything sucks and its still the fault of billionaires like everything else.

I once had the thought of a back of phone mounted backhand stenography input, but I feel like it would also suck.

Its already a work in place of rent situation. I have tenants with similar contract in my kitchen window, my shower ceiling, the storage/work room window, and the one that doesn’t follow the rules in the front entrance arch who is likely to be evicted.

I just use lidarr to rewrite the tags to be consistent and that seems to be enough for navidrome to put the correct cover art 90% of the time.

I worked in steel shops and we would always walk by each other and be like "hey mike"and already have the middle finger up. Drop something? Flip it off. Welder stops mid weld because someone flipped your breaker? Flip off the welder and the guy. etc. All day every day. I miss those fuckers.

I used to game with a guy that swore by ps/2 keyboard for the interrupt supposedly making his inputs easier to perfectly time, but he got into a heated argument with my other gaming buddy over whether or not his mobo just had a usb ps/2 port that was basically a built in adapter and I never heard from either of them since.

I wish arch was a thing back then so I could have thrown in the standard line and have the last laugh.

I was using just jellyfin for a while but navidrome got around some issues I was having, or rather the primary user of the music library was having with various things being wrong such as duplicate artists, incorrect album art, albums split into duplicates with opposite missing tracks. Once things went wrong in jellyfin it was a pain to figure out what the cause and fix were. Navidrome seems to base everything off the embedded tags and using lidarr to rewrite the tags, and for some albums rename the files, made everything show up correctly, then a delete missing files in navidrome cleans up the evidence and everyone is happy. The playlists are stored on the server too so if you don’t like a particular client app you don’t have to remake them if you try another, or just having them persist between mobile and desktop.
