Read the Jesus parts again. Would Jesus like that?

I would add more automatic “poster location” tags and community voted “human” and “bot” tags.
As for a more direct answer, I would make things that contribute to human compassion, knowledge, and how-tos. More stories that help people to build a better world. Fewer stories about people that are popular for being popular.

Sometimes it is just a really intense garden.

I am disappointed. A few servers have been moved via train and stayed online. Codeberg should do better.
There are more options than the two you mentioned. Listing a few as more people should remember them. I did get a bit off topic…
business with a contract
I always wonder at this and have cautioned my managers repeatedly. Yes, we have a contract, but they have a literal army of lawyers and we have less (one lawyer one retainer for hourly work or a small grouping focused on taxes and employment law). As if our ownership won’t bend over backwards to avoid suing a large company like Google, AWS, Microsoft, or Oracle. (Maybe OpenAI and Anthropic are sue-able by a $100 million corp?)
As proof I offer the lawsuits between businesses that have proceeded far enough the general public has heard about them. Not a specific one, just all of them.

Elsewhere in this thread. Anyway, here is what I had said:
There are “electric truck” conversion books from the 1970s. (Only trucks as they used lead acid batteries, which are still extremely heavy for useful amounts of stored energy.) This indicates it is not extremely complex, though possibly still very complex. (My reason for this assessment is from reading a few of them, but never implementing any of it.)
Anyway, here is a title to look for, from 2011, " The electric vehicle conversion handbook : how to convert cars, trucks, motorcycles, and bicycles : includes EV components, kits, and project vehicles" by Warner, Mark, ISBN: 9781557885685 1557885680.
2021’s “Convert It!: A simple step-by-step guide for converting any classic car into an electric vehicle.” by Ron Toms, ASIN B093CH8HR7.
Neither are from the 1970s, but both are likely more useful anyway. There are also likely others that I cannot immediately find. I have read neither, yet.

For those wondering, yes, that was a real issue submitted. There are other issues, and they are great.

Yeah… Maybe expand it a bit and include mandatory therapy and a beer league softball club (they don’t need to drink, but it is very okay to be terrible at the game).
Edit: My anonymity and brevity edits may have gone too far. This is not just about filesystem developers, but several kernel module developers I have interacted with.

Likely a lot. I posted elsewhere, but there were books on this in the 1970’s.

As for a detailed answer on the rest: I have no idea.

Just a reminder that “kit cars” exist. Their existence makes the idea of “open source” cars seem more reasonable to me in that one does not need to make a large company, it is possible (though likely not profitable or cheap) to be a small car company.
Yeah, at they approach 9999 surely they will start using larger variables to store the year, and all of the 2000’s code will have moved out of production (2000’s and not 1970’s because we may have fixed the 1970’s code by now.)
Insurance companies in Des Moines, Iowa, USA tended to be heavy users of COBOL near the year 2000. If you want a job writing COBOL, I suggest looking there. I am sure at this point they will do some training.

Um, the lesson was available, but not everyone is doing to reading.

Paraphrasing something a human said: With data and instructions mixed, there is no way to prevent an AI from following directions found in data. #Fuck if I know. Also, I am a real human, and this fits with my understanding of cybersecurity and why we don’t mix data with directions.
Not even a fucking made up sentence. That was a real developer expressing a real problem.

Like you, I only replace when there is a major problem. When there are repairs I can do myself, I do them to extend the life of the phone. My previous phone had corrupted internal memory or storage, and that was that.
I have run into issues where newer software runs poorly. I solve this issue by not running that software.
I have never purchased the exact same model, but they tend to not be offered at that point. I have purchased the same model line. I had really enjoyed the Motorola G line, especially the extended battery iteration.

Building codes, at least the ones I am aware of, require the light switch inside the room with the light next to the door, similar to how nearly every room you have ever been in. (Everyone knows of exceptions.) This means either corners have been cut, at those switches should control things within the room with the switches.
As the interviewer if attention to detail and following build codes and specifications is important at this company. Is there a culture of safety, or are corners cut that put my life at risk.

Fake cigarettes.
