Sync is outdated and will be broken in a future Lemmy update, some features already don’t work (such as hiding read posts, they’re meant to stay hidden but they don’t in Sync). I’d suggest trying out Boost for Lemmy, Summit, Thunder, Jerboa, Eternity - roughly in that order.
my weird fun fact about Myanmar is that a small region of it in the east (Wa State) is a de-facto independent military-communist dictator state.
oh there’s uh, lots, lots more than just 2 groups fighting it out in Myanmar. It’s a really complex conflict that’ll probably never fully resolve.

I find Lemmy isn’t super at pushing newer content at the top, and you have to just mix between the different sorts. The content is definitely there. The alternative way to mitigate this is as follows:
I used to get really annoyed with stale feeds but upon doing the above it’s pretty much always fresh content.
That said, it won’t hurt to subscribe to more communities!
It should work fine. Filtering by one instance will show all Lemmy content. You can use a script to ensure you always land back on your instance.
