Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Should I warn people that I am a narcissist and have antisocial behavior
2·12 days agoThat’s really a question you need to answer for yourself but everyone has issues. The fact that you are self aware of them means you know when they happen and can do things to control it better.
I don’t think you need to introduce yourself with a warning, you deserve to have privacy and boundaries while you deal with your issues and heal, but if you feel safe enough with someone to open up to them, you can explain what you’re struggling with, and in normal casual relationships, you can use that self awareness to control your issues.
Nobody’s perfect, everyone has flaws, you’re clearly not a malicious person if you’re here asking this, you’re someone who is struggling with some issues. But you recognize those issues and want to deal with them, that’s a huge step a lot of people don’t even get to.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•How dangerous is to travel to the US nowadays?
2·12 days agoI’m sure you already have, but definitely discourage him heavily from doing that. A ticket can potentially be refunded. Even if it can’t, it’s replaceable. He on the other hand is irreplaceable. There’s only one if him and will only ever be one of him.
It’s definitely not worth going right now.
But he’s an adult, and is going to make his own choices. If he goes anyway, you did everything you could.

7·12 days agoSorry I misread. I don’t want to alarm you but you have every reason to be concerned. He’s an adult, all you can really do is tell him the risks. Why does he feel the need to to come here right now? .

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•How dangerous is to travel to the US nowadays?
47·13 days agoI live in America but I’m fairly disconnected from everything that’s happening because I live in a very isolated area living a fairly isolated life. However from everything I’m hearing from the news, if I was in your position, I would not step foot here. The worst people imaginable are running the country and it’s genuinely not safe for even the people already living here.
I definitely would not give them any of the information you listed, that’s insane. These people cannot be trusted.
Unless it’s of vital life and death importance that you come here, it’s not worth the risk right now. Hopefully MAGA dies and sane people start running the country again, but right now I cannot in good consciousness recommend that you come here.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Should we view everyone labeled as 'neo-Nazi' or 'far-right' as inherently bad? Or are these labels subjective and constantly shifting? Is generalizing entire wing of political ideas simply bad intel?

“Should we view the people who want every man woman and child of a group of people to die solely because they’re the wrong color, worship God differently, or come from somewhere I don’t live, as inherently bad?”
Yes. How the f*ck can you even ask that with a straight face. Get bent.

Showerthoughts@lemmy.world•children are universally hated in the US because children represent nature
2·16 days agoI think saying that America just hates children is a bit of a stretch there. In fact I think it’s missing the point entirely.
I can’t speak for the whole of America, only myself and the other people I know, but most of us would love to slow down, start a family, have someone to nurture, teach, pass down our own interests and skills to. We can’t.
The economy is in shambles, the people in control are comedically evil. Ffs the majority of the people running the united states are more than likely on the epstein list. Everyone is living paycheck to paycheck, nobody can afford a house to actually properly raise a child in.
Nobody is having children right now because things are so bad here, nobody can afford to have a child, and even if they could, given how bad things are globally, nobody wants to bring a child into this world.
The system is so cruel to children because the people who run the system are profoundly corrupt, do not have the childrens best interests in mind, and want to make sure our next generation is as uninformed and easy to control as possible
Now if you’re asking why most adults don’t hang out with kids, it should be pretty obvious why that is. They’re kids. Adults who are not their caregivers or in their lives have no business hanging out with them. I would be very concerned if my kid asked if his buddy could hang out and that person was q full grown man.
I’m sure there’s people out there who genuinely dislike children, but it’s pretty shortsighted to say “every single person in the country must hate children if these people do”

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•If most of the jobs get replaced by AI, how people will have income to spend on products which will likely be produced by AI itself?
10·21 days agoIf everyone is dead the people who fix things, grow or raise the food, transport the food, and prepare the food die too, and the stockpiles these people have become finite. We all die first but eventually everything these people have will break, supplies will all run dry, and they will die too.
They most likely know this and don’t care because they want the number to go up right now.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•If most of the jobs get replaced by AI, how people will have income to spend on products which will likely be produced by AI itself?
124·21 days agoThat’s the thing. These companies are not thinking that far ahead and they don’t care about the consequences even if it hurts them too.
The only thing matters to these people is making number go up. They want more money. They want it right now. They don’t care what consequences it has for them or the world later so long as they get more money now.
There will never be a universal income. Countries will let their people starve before they give them money for nothing.

That’s a step in the right direction. Since I’m not a mind reader I couldn’t tell you.
