For what it’s worth, from one internet stranger to another, I’m sorry.
No one should feel so betrayed on all fronts. That’s awful :(

I honestly hate this term, but alas, I also say wall wart most of the time.
True, but I see it more as a tool for a non-technical person to make a prototype of a user experience more than making a foundation for how a project will actually be built and designed from a code perspective. Like, when it comes to the actual implementation of said project, the developer(s) shouldn’t even look at the prototype code. I envision, in this example, as it solely being a tool for non-technical people to express their ideas to the technical side of the operation.
I agree with you though, that still has potential to pollute a project entirely, and we already have methods of creating requirements and documentation for projects so this isn’t exactly the most useful thing ever.
I think that’s exactly what they’re implying. Use it to make a low effort disposable prototype, not scaffolding to expand from.

I feel it. I excitedly set up my side monitor in portrait mode for coding ages ago, but turns out I barely ever use it. Instead, I just use it for Discord or random youtube videos playing on the side while I do all my work on the main monitor…

It certainly depends on the dog.
I have two dogs and one clearly understands a certain degree of words, where as I think the other goes off of vibe. I can ask the golden if she wants water in a casual flat tone and she’ll look straight at her water bowl and ponder if she does.
Meanwhile, I can say “obbu do booboo?” in an excited upward inflection to the terrier and he thinks he’s getting a treat lol.
True enough! Mistakes are the best teacher. That said, I’m still making games in Javascript to this day, so I guess you can say I haven’t learned enough lol.
This is how I got into game development myself. I used to use Javascript to make dumb little interactive games in the early 2000s before it was ever meant to do such things, emulating what is now modern day HTML5 canvas and such
On the lower end of estimates, the number of unique chess board configurations is 10^120, often referred to as the Shannon number. The universe doesn’t stand a chance.

I overwrote and deleted all posts/comments and deleted my account and two factor and the fucking bastards ressurected it to it’s former state. Now that my 2FA is gone, the account can not be accessed to redelete. Fuck Reddit.
As per the article: “A nine-day reporting trip by The Washington Post through the region…”.
Ah, interesting. My apologies, I’ve been driving all day and have been checking my phone sporadically and haven’t had the time to properly read the article. I have now.
but it’s so exhausting seeing the same talking points of concern trolls like you who have heard on reddit and Lemmy …
I totally understand, and I do apologize for propagating this behaviour. My knowledge was outdated and that’s no one’s fault but my own.
All in all though, my whole point is honestly just that I don’t really trust any government to be totally truthful in regards to information they share, regardless of whether that’s the US, China, or even my home country, and my initial assumption was that this information was coming from them directly. Clearly, I was incorrect in this case, spouted some outdated shit confidently, and I apologize. I appreciate your patience.
And the information they publish comes from where exactly?
There is no need for snarkiness, by the way. You act like Im attacking you directly. If this is how you communicate, I’m just going to block you and move on with my life.
I’m sure the government that lied about wrongly imprisoning people in the first place is totally being truthful now.
I wouldn’t take the Chinese or US government’s claims at face value.
To be fair, China is 2nd in overall prison population by country globally, so it’s not like their numbers are complete bs. I’m sure there is some fudging in what constitutes as a “prisoner” when they have had “re-education camps” though. That said, the US’s numbers are fucking insane.
It’s called bitshifting and is used to select which bits you want to modify so you can toggle them individually.
1 << 0 is the flag for the first bit
1 << 1 for the second
1 << 2 for the third and so on
I think that’s correct. It’s been years since I’ve used this technique tbh 😅
Edit - oops, responded to wrong comment…

Even better, people in the 80s when drinking and driving was made illegal: https://youtu.be/2xcQIoh3FQQ
Honestly, I could see a world, not super far from now, but not right around the corner, where we’ve created automonous agent driven robots that continue carrying on to do the jobs they’ve been made to do long after the last of the humans are gone. An echo of our insane capitalistic lives, endlessly looping into eternity.

I think that’s starting to come around, no?
Okay, but literally all of that is reason to need temperature monitoring?
