I got answers here but you’ll need to do a little leg work.

First off, get a good guess at what the marker is. If it’s permanent ink, it’s probably using alcohol base, if it’s acrylic it’s water, etc. Depending on the solvent used in the marker you can pick a coating material that won’t damage the original markings. You’re going to want it in spray can form unless you own an airbrush.

If all else fails, someone else pointed out automotive clear coat. That will do fine if you follow the info carefully.

Once you have a clear coat that either does or preferably doesn’t react with the mark, you’re going to tape off your phone. Masking tape is fine, I find washi tape from the scap booking section to work better. It sticks tighter but peals back up easily and without residues. Go around the camera hump, over the surface, around the outside, and completely cover the screen. Always do more than you think is necessary, because it’s easier to waste tape than remove paint.

Now for the best results you’re going to want a hot, dry, windless environment. If it’s not like that outside you can do it indors with ventilation, just lay down and old sheet and open some windows.

Now your clear coat is going to be in a spray can. Look around the tip for a mark on the can, that will indicate the angle of the intake. Point the sprayer the same direction and test it a few times on cardboard until you have a good and steady stream. Practice the next part if you have any doubts about yourself. Just cut a piece of cardboard that’s phone sized and pretend you’re doing the real thing.

You’re going to start each spray off to the side of the target. The initial push and your ability to move is not perfect even after years of doing this and will lead to a wet spot. Make sure that spot is on the work area and not the piece. Steadily move across the piece and end the spray on the work area again, this prevents splatter.

You’re going to gently dust the phone in coat. Adjust to the next pass and do it again. Then let this coat dry completely not tacky, not dull, full dry.

Turn the phone 90 degrees and do it again. You’re going to repeat this process 30 or 40 times. Eventually it will build up into one solid coating across the entire surface. Ideally you let that cure for 24 hour.

This is your phone so I understand if that’s not doable, just make sure to ler each coat dry.

  • So I looked it up and, no surprise, it seems to be a lot of propaganda. In the last 5 years there has been a handful of cases. This year a couple was kidnapped by unaffiliated criminals on the confirmation that they had several internal accounts. The perpetrators killed them and impersonated them to drain their accounts. An influencer with dual citizenship was kidnapped at gunpoint from her custom lavender cyber truck. Assumibly to ransom her or extort her for for money hased on her incredibly lavish Instagram lifestyle.

Those are spot on. The part where it gets dodgy is the reports of cartel involvement and targeting US citizens indiscriminately. The two cases in the last year that targeted Americans that weren’t flaunting their wealth were actually both associated with immigration. The father of 4 immigrated and married a citizen and was kidnapped to extort that. The young woman was kidnapped by the smuggling group her fiance paid to bring her to the US. Both cases, it was locala targeting locals that had americans in the splash zone so the news spun it as “targeting the whites”

The one cartel situation involved 4 kidnapped tourists. The cartel outright stated that it was their agents who were working outside of their orders. It’s speculated that the 4 were mistaken for rival drug traffickers. Knowing the news here rarely admits that white people are common mules and I didn’t see a lot of info about their personal lives, I’d speculate they were either there to transport drugs or were poking around where they shouldn’t.

All in all, stay away from drugs, don’t look rich, and avoid bad neighborhoods. It’s the same stranger danger we use here. The only reason kidnapping for ransom isn’t equally strong here is because we live in a surveillance state that only cares about money. You attack a rich person and the rich people pay their politicians to make an example of you.

  • Both I and my brother have tried this. First and foremost, the intended experience is reading it in the disjointed and bizarre way the book is written and that’s very hard to do in pdf. My pdf reader has a “reflow” function that pulls all the text into a reasonable book like format, it helps with the reading, but it doesn’t do anything to help parse the actual content which is itself all ovee the place. If you’re just looking for the story and not necessarily the puzzle of understanding the 5 meta-narrative pile, the implication of unreliable narators, and all the strange that it is, I’d suggest a nice long format YouTube video essay on it. That was personally my favorite because it sort of straightened all the lines.

  • If I had to limit it to physically, I’d say the motherboard. It’s the only thing in the box that everything has to be compatible with. Everything else is the extension.

Personally, I believe in a machine spirit. It’s a nebulous concept and it muddies the water here, but really the object is new when it no longer feels like the old. If I install a new is some day and my fans don’t breathe the same, my lights don’t blink like they did, or the chirp of my drives sounds alien, then I know I’ve lost the ghost and will have to learn a whole personality. Same is true for all my objects.

  • I have plans for a piece on my fore arm of a stylized 3 headed rat. There will be a fancy crown hovering over the arch of its back in blacklight ink so in the right setting it glows.

The Ratking is my favorite mythological creature, in myth they keep and deal in secrets as their rats work as spies. My favorite part though, is that the mythical Ratking is created the same way as the normal one, rats getting stuck together. It’s that mythical from the mundane that I love so much.

  • This is location heavy question and it depends a lot on your willingness to do work for cheap, but there are options.

Shitty part time is a great option. Side hustles mean you’re free lance and free lance means you do a lot of work finding paying gigs. If it isn’t something you enjoy, just find a liquor store or an independent gas station that needs extra hands. They don’t make you jump through hoops like corpos do.

If you have access to a lawn mower and a vehicle to move it, lawncare can pay big. My uncle is in his 70s and still makes his living with a beat up rider and a truck. Everything you need to know can be found online and the more you know the better gigs you can get. I’ve met a few people that started as a side hustle and now do it for a living.

House repair. Paint walls, patch drywall, surface floors, deep clean. It gets you a lot if work especially in renter heavy neighborhoods. Land lords half ass because they don’t want to pay for good work, if you offer cheap they keep you on speed dial.

Bit more expensive and technical, but if you have a 3d printer you can make minis and game pieces to sell at local hoby markets. Nerds pay big money for custom minis for d&d and I paid off my $800 printer in a year selling custom hero forge prints. Use abs and learn how to chemical smooth and you’ll be the talk of the town.

Ultimately, the best option is to jest get better employment. It’s a bitch but if you get creative you can find it.
