I’m not cut out for this.
I’m not cut out for this.
I was trying to imagine it and can’t imagine seeing new tech and not putting my hands on it.
Low tech commune.
I agree. I avoid any AI gen smell. It has the hallmarks of being subpar. Any images, however esoteric, would be much better.
I learned this early on in my career, when I was in college actually. I wanted to talk with a coworker who was already in IT and found he had zero interest in memes, games, or anything ‘nerd culture.’
Ugh, that sucks. I can understand not wanting to go back to the same environment once you clock out for the day.
I work with several devs who would rather never see a computer again.
A lot of people in IT, especially programmers I have met, are completely uninterested in gaming.
To be sure, there are PLENTY of gamers in IT, but many people I have met are done with computers once they get home.
I have kids. I said I wanted them until it really hit home how much work it was. I didn’t shy from the work though, and had 2 more. Now they are close to becoming adults and we are bonding over so many things. I would never do it again without them.
Waking up early and feeling like garbage is amplified for me by drinking, staying up late, eating just before bed, watching screens until I fall asleep, having inconsistent hours over the weekend, and getting accustomed to snooze.
Avoiding these things seems to help.
Having kids and hearing them do stuff early in the morning seems to get me moving early.
Hardware wise, are the drives SATA? I couldn’t get an answer at a glance. If you are running them mirrored, you can back off on the cost.
The three drives may ramp up the fan on that. Check to see if there are additional fan headers and add some intake fans.
