Off-topic:
I’m always tempted to write it out. The word is in everybody’s mind while we read the text. It gets so powerful if people decide to talk around it. But if the context is not hurtful, it’s just a word. Nothing happens. It becomes an insult if the mind of the one who says it or the one who reads it decides to make it one.
Plus the assholes who use it as a slur will say it anyway. We’re not achieving anything by erasing it from our bubble.
Well, that’s what I think about it. :)

Writing this from a degoogled Pixel 4a bought second hand for 80 bucks a couple years ago. Great camera, enough storage, fingerprint sensor, headphone jack, fits in hand and pocket. This thing is close to perfect, new phones are scam.

I used to say that when I was younger. But power vacuums fill up fast with brutal assholes. It took us centuries come up with ideas to balance power and obviously we’re not done yet. But abolishing hierarchies will lead to utter chaos. There is no species without it.
States are a mistake though, I agree with that. :)

The meaning of life
Try to be nice to people, avoid eating fat, read a good book every now and then, get some walking in, and try and live together in peace and harmony with people of all creeds and nations.

But does that allow you to vandalize it? What will it accomplish?

Always has been

People had children in conditions way worse than this. Children and their parents used to suffer and die all the time. Yet they are the expression of hope and confidence in our species. And while I agree that it’s not looking great for us, I refuse to give up, roll on my back and wait to go extinct in an aging, dying world.

I love my kids so much that it’s changed my whole life. They have given value to my life that didn’t exist before, they made me grow and it’s an incredible experience to watch them grow. They made me happy, worried, scared, bored, proud and angry like nothing else ever did.
Yeah I sometimes envy my brother, who has all the money and time in the world to do whatever he wants. But I secretly pity him as well, because he lives like a grown-up, self-centerd child without true responsibilities, and all his toys and holidays feel meaningless to me.
I couldn’t recommend this to anyone but it is a true magic happens outside the comfort zone-experience that will never go away.
