Pretty sure it was marvel comics that did it, and Hollywood has just been turning their materials into movies. There isn’t much that the comic book universe won’t turn into a hero or villain.

Ah, the old “I know you are, but what am I?” defense. Clearly I am dealing with an intellectual giant.
This is the stupidest thing I’ve seen in quite some time.
Haha, saw the headline and came to argue something along those lines. It’s our only hope at this point.
They won’t even need to do that now that they’ve got drones and robot dogs with machine guns on their backs. A war between robots and people wouldn’t be like it is in the movies, the robots won’t miss.
That’s why they no longer care about maintaining the economy. It’s about controlling resources now.

I found it really easy to quit Reddit. The trick is to engage in conversation with a maga, say exactly what you think, and let the permaban system do the rest! 😉

I get maybe 10-15 emails a day, and mostly ones I’m at least occasionally interested in!

I don’t claim to know what the perfect system is, but I believe it would be some form of democratic socialism with some sort of magical built-in safeguard against wars of misinformation of the type we’re seeing now.

Well that’s not funny at all…
TheCriticalMember@aussie.zoneto Memes@lemmy.ml•Own things? Is that a rich person thing I'm to poor to understand?English41·3 months agoWhen I was a kid, people would get jobs, then stay in those jobs for years and years, getting promotions and raises. Then they’d buy things like new cars, houses, and vacations, just with the money they earned by working their jobs. So I thought that that is how life would work for me. Boy was I wrong!
Who do you mean by liberals? And what would have been the best way to not wholeheartedly support the genocide?
I’m not trying to pick a fight, but I am curious to know who is being accused, and of what specifically. I’m not a US citizen, but I was hoping Kamala would win the election last year. I’m also, like any decent person, disgusted by what’s going on in Gaza and shocked that the entire world is more or less just looking the other way as Israel commits genocide of these people who are just trying to live in their own country.
Just seems to me like there were no good options for an American voter - vote democrat and continue to pressure the party to do the right thing with regard to Gaza, or vote for trump/abstain, which is abhorrent for an endless number of reasons. What should the average person be doing?
TheCriticalMember@aussie.zoneto Memes@lemmy.ml•The kind of parents every 2000s gamer kid wished to haveEnglish13·4 months agoHehe, I remember my daughter around that age loved to watch me play bioshock. She called it “the hand game”. Hope watching me harvest all those little sisters didn’t affect her in any way… I also used to set her up on top of my base with a sniper rifle and a mountain of ammo and let her take care of blood moon hordes in 7 days to die.
It’s pretty intuitive from the saying. It’s the carrot OR the stick, not the carrot ON the stick. The carrot is the reward for doing the thing, the stick is the punishment for not doing it. Just google it.
