Country girls make do.
Genocide is bad. If your ideology prevents you from agreeing with that statement, you are a monster.
Young teenagers?
Wait who’s the second one?

Showerthoughts@lemmy.world•Windows 11 could actually become the same kind of mistake Sony made with the PS3

51·1 month agoOlder Intel Macs are some of the best Linux machines. The newer ones with Apple CPUs are a compatibility nightmare.
I tend to find people who claim this actually just have shit worldviews and don’t like being called out for it. For example, do you agree that ICE is an extralegal occupying paramilitary?

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Fellow 'Fediversers,' what keeps you hanging on here despite the "FV" being a work-in-progress, with all its built-in, various bumps & difficulties to experience along the way?
11·2 months agoI guess I just care a lot less about federation between totally different kinds of social media than you do. Mastodon/Twitter style narcissism is something I’m fine not being exposed to. I also consider PieFed to be a completely failed dead-in-the-water project because requiring users to write an essay and beg for an account has got to be the absolute stupidest possible way to grow a non-established social network.
As far as federation delays, yes I do hear about them but as an end user, I just never felt any impact. I haven’t had any issues with conversations being interrupted or anything like that. Or if they were, perhaps I just assumed that the person I was talking to stepped away for a while because they had something more important to do than argue with strangers on the internet haha.

5·2 months agoI can’t say I’ve noticed any issues. What’s broken for you?
I’ve planted several trees in my life and none of them have been torn out. A few have burned in a forest fire, though.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•If a Great Depression happened again, would people still stand together like they did during the penny auctions?
71·2 months agoI agree you won’t find those literal words in that order. There are plenty of other parts of the constitution that have been interpreted more holistically, but not the section limiting federal armies to 2 year stints. Funny how that works.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•If a Great Depression happened again, would people still stand together like they did during the penny auctions?
91·2 months agoYou’re right that the wording in the constitution requires re-appropriating the army every two years. The obviously short time period along with the words written outside of the constitution by the people who wrote it made it very clear what a disastrous mistake having a federal standing army would be. Those guys were right.
