It’s beginner level, the hard part is the reverse proxy, once you have a grasp on that just having it on a dedicated box in a segmented portion on your firewall designated as the DMZ is easy. Id even go so far as to say its the bare minimum if you’re even considering exposing to the internet.

It doesn’t even need to be all that powerful since its just relaying packets as a middleman

FYI, it’s not automated, the most automation I use is notifications. Everything else is done completely manually. Thanks! I generally try to avoid .world comms myself when cross-posting, not because I think they’re being toxic like .ml, but just for general health and decentralization of the Lemmy-verse

But with asklemmy, it’s a bit of an odd spot, there was !ask@lemm.ee I was starting to crosspost to but ya know, .ee shutdown, so they’ve moved over to !ask@piefed.social but uptake has been very slow IMO even compared to when I was starting to crosspost to the .ee version, maybe it’s a federation issue?

So now I’m trying to go for a “little bit here and a little bit there” approach lol
