Man visiting that community definitely raised more questions than answers

I used to live in the US and now I live in Denmark. I recently fell off my bike and got hurt. I went to the non-ER hospital and had some x-rays, an ultrasound at a specialists office, got a sling, and some nominal amount of ibuprofen/paracetamol/cut cleanup thrown my way. Then had a follow up with a specialist and got a little PT as well.
$0. It’s unreal as someone who has experienced injury in the US. I got amazing care in a pretty timely fashion and didn’t have to worry about going broke
Oh yeah, it’s a wild trip. Just gave it a listen, thanks for the culture
I haven’t seen mention of Ozzy’s maybe biggest hit, Crazy Train
Good list, but not crediting either Duke Ellington (who made it famous), Strayhorn (who wrote it), or mingus (who has a banger version of it) for Take the A Train is wild!

My band of mostly straight men (like a dozen years ago) played a set at a gay bar every Thursday night for a year or so. It was great fun first of all, and maybe 15-20% of the people there were straight or mostly straight but just hung out there.
It felt really fun and welcoming to all, and was less about gay people finding other gay people than it was about no one caring much about your gender identity or sexuality (unless it was maybe to take you home, idk).
That’s not to say it’s one size fits all, probably depends on the bar and the area a fair bit

The Last Lecture by Randy Pausch. It’s a farewell and reflection on his life as he faces his inevitable death from cancer. It’s beautiful and sad and insightful

That I’ve got a special click when I specifically need something to work. It involves a lot of deliberation on the mouse, a small pause before starting to click, and a ~0.5s longer click time. That’s my “okay carefully now…” Click.
Reserved for tasks like a bank transfer, an important form filling out, etc

It definitely depends, but sometimes! Especially if it’s a fairly musically complicated thing or if I’m trying to learn to play a song. When the new Sleep Token album came out (and the new Angine de Poitrine album) I just put them on, alone, straight through

Definitely said in part cuz they’re winning everything now
I never thought about how a physical arch relates to physical windows. Interesting.
Oatly barista steam as well or maybe better than cow’s milk imo
Maybe things along the lines of “nerd”?

I don’t think so, and I’m on the Ed Zitron train of thought why not.
The financial instruments got a bailout in 08, because the economy itself would stop functioning. That’s different than the stocks would drop. Also, there’s like nothing to bail out? OpenAI and their ilk are just sucking down capital and returning nothing. Even if they get one bailout, they need a continuous stream of unlimited money forever? I don’t think it’ll happen.
I hope I’m right, cuz damn that shit is cancerous
Best of luck! How did it go?
Oh yeah, to be clear, it’ll break incredibly old and weak encryption, which is already not that hard to break.
I think quantum will have some cool specific use cases in science and math modeling, but will be over hyped like the AI bubble as a total game changer.
For me, I find humbleness and the non-decisiveness of knowing there’s a lot to know and understand on almost anything to be a good sign of intelligence.
Well I hate to hear that, but I appreciate your optimism on it.

I’ve seen a sort of equivalent for welding with just a feed wire, maybe something like this could work. I’m guessing if not, some fancy clamps that can be held in many orientations would do it, something like this
