i think a ship could do it… i think they need just a little bit less than 3 weeks. probably the cheapest option. otherwise airplane ofc. idk what it costs to rent a private airplane for that one single distance.
new account due to issues

I mean the stuff that is produced within the country is produced by the people. So it’s people’s stuff, in the same sense that milk is cow’s milk. It’s not for the cow, but from the cow.

don’t do intra-day trading. you will lose more than you gain in the long run. the bank always wins.
you’re not getting ahead of these sub-second well-organized trading algorithms that big banks are using.

sounds like you are living in south america.
I know if you “wait” things will get better. But why should I wait.
i want to offer a perspective to you that you have probably never heard about before.
the reason why things suck in the world around you is because we live in a time of enormous speed of progress - and progress always comes with hardships. that is why so many things are difficult. it seeps into all areas of life.

what you describe is called “dissociation” btw
some people have it as an automatic coping mechanism with difficult situations
it tastes yellow

“sadness” is just your subconscious processing things. it’s like a small micro-factory hidden somewhere in your mind. you have the options to either
(a) be a slave-driver and demand it be done quickly so you can return to “joyful” things (a.k.a. wastes of time)
(b) or allow yourself to have the time to heal properly.
your decision, no one else’s.
note: it helps spending time in the garden, among plants in general, or just any place where there’s not too many cars driving by and making a noise.

i mostly post because i get feedback on the stuff that i post about. so i learn something new too.

yeah ok that would make meat more expensive (which some people would argue is actually a good thing) but not plant-based food. (since plant-based food is less limited). which is an interesting observation …
yeah the housing crisis is something else. however i suspect that there are bigger factors at play here than just a limited supply … theoretically, the housing supply could be arbitrarily big. the land area is not the bottleneck here (around 1% of the settleable land area of the world are used for housing, 97% is used for farming) and neither are the materials available … it’s more about market expectation (declining birthrate) making new housing construction seem short-sighted and not worth it in the long run. but this is a bit of a different issue and does not directly have to do with the buying power of the people, i think.

oh interesting, this is the first time that i see this. but it kinda makes sense, thanks.

as universal basic income doesn’t set universal basic buying power
i disagree. food prices would not go up. prices are set by supply and demand. demand would not change. imagine a society with 1 million people. all of them need to eat, whether they earn their money through wages or get it through UBI. the demand for food does not change. i don’t see a reason why supply would change either. so prices stay the same.
do you have any rational argument against this?

i’m just gonna say it: your assumption that everybody should work is harmful. there’s lots of people who can’t work for medical reasons, but can’t get a doctor’s note either. for example, psychological syndromes are notoriously hard to diagnose.
you’d just create another point of social friction with your attitude.

that’s not really how people are, though. if people are happy, they generally see little reason to change something about their situation. everything else is delusional

i’m not sure why that is weird … aren’t they the same thing?

On top of that, you would pronounce 678 as six-hundred-seven-ty-eight in english … guess what it is in german:
Sechs-hundert-acht-und-sieb-zig (literally six-hundred-eight-and-seven-ty)
i’m actually trying to change this point specifically because it irks me … but i am sadly alone with it.

In german and english, the comma in numbers is swapped. So the number 123.45 in german would be written as 123,45 while ironically, the thing that we used to separate thousands from hundreds is also swapped. So one-thousand-four-hundred would be written as 1,400 in english but as 1.400 in german …

realistically, yes, at least in america. the reason is simple: it makes the economy go up. if people have more money to spend -> more consumption -> more revenue for companies -> more profit -> higher stock valuations. it’s very simple actually. it’s very much in the interest of the state and everyone in power to do exactly that.

rather than getting essential services
UBI says income, not money. resources and services provided to you would still be income.

can confirm. same second. thanks!
yeah but others won’t recognize that
