oh awesome thank you!
HEY I’m gilokee, a millennial who’s been on the internet since about 2000. Trying to migrate here from the other place. :)
Originally from Washington State, I now live in rural Japan with my blacksmith husband.

Hopefully someday Lemmy makes some kind of “multilemmy” function, like multireddits. I used those constantly (and had one for text based subs only).

2·2 months agoMy husband and I drink together, it’s not like I’m always drinking alone in my sad little world. It’s a social activity. Plus we live in Japan and it’s very hard to avoid…lol.

7·2 months agoIt is for me lol. I’m way more motivated with a couple beers. I’m probably an alcoholic, but I have rules set in place like, I can only start drinking after 5, I can only have hard alcohol a couple times a week, etc.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Those in countries with universal healthcare, what's it like?English
1·4 months agoThis is basically how Japan is. Very very affordable, even if we don’t pay the national insurance. Husband went to the emergency room for a kidney stone, after everything I think we paid like $200. Also the vet (for animals) is ridiculously cheap.

I have two chickens and I get approximately two eggs a day. Their food is like, I dunno, $20 a month? Probably not saving money on eggs but they’re my pets so that’s why I have them. (not eating them, obviously. Or any chickens for that matter.)
