Wow a little bit of math is a dangerous thing
Sub version tags make sense but for the the love of pie if you’re going to use a number at least separate it from the others, like
1.21-1
I like using the short hash from the latest git commit used to build, to avoid confusion among multiple devs on parallel streams
Minecraft II is called Hytale
See that’s totally logical, but it makes more human sense than computer sense.
Well I’ve heard all I need to. I knew Chomsky was kind of a prodigious jerk. He’s put out some good material in his time, but it sure doesn’t seem like he’s personally on the right side of of the child abuse “side” of the debate.

Programmer Humor@programming.dev•Hot take: Unit tests are love letters to future you, integration tests are group therapy, and end-to-end tests are necromancy
1·4 months agoEh if the behaviour is changing then I think it’s normal and good that the associated unit tests should also change.
Obviously you can get annoying with unit tests, but if they’re tiny and fast, and trivial to update then I like them as a truth check that the behaviour is changing as I expect.

Open Source@lemmy.ml•What will you do after Android starts restricting FOSS apps?
2·5 months agoI’m hoping it’ll be like with the desktop ecosystem – as the mainstream mobile OSes enshittify, more people (and developers) will be driven to use (and contribute to) the linux alt.

Open Source@lemmy.ml•What will you do after Android starts restricting FOSS apps?
1·5 months agoSure, but someone will without a doubt add the functionality. They always do. Seems to be the case with anything linux.

Open Source@lemmy.ml•What will you do after Android starts restricting FOSS apps?
1·5 months agoWithout a doubt. That’s pretty minor, considering I don’t think I’ve ever adjusted call volume in my life.

Open Source@lemmy.ml•What will you do after Android starts restricting FOSS apps?
2·5 months agoLike desktop level. Password protected. Encryption would be nice. As for reliability, I’m willing to put up with slowdown, waiting up to a minute to open apps, and maybe 2 hard crashes a day, if it means I get a fully free phone, or at least as close to it as we get now.

Open Source@lemmy.ml•What will you do after Android starts restricting FOSS apps?
7·5 months agoI like Graphene, but I’m at the point where I would put up with less security for more freedom – I just wouldn’t put anything actually sensitive on my phone.
It’s kind of silly that my phone should be an everything-device.

5·5 months agoOr really, I just do my banking on the laptop.

6·5 months agoCan’t you use a browser for banking? That’s what I do.
