Minimum wage where I live is $16.80 an hour, so at 40 hours a week that’s $672 a week, so that’s $34,944 a year or $2,912 a month.
So potentially, yeah, if they make $3,000 a month and send you $2,000, that could be significant.
OTOH, at my peak I was pulling down $12,000 a month, so your mileage may vary!
How do you open a bookstore for under $10,000?
Well, first you find a location with $600 a month rent. LOL.
Floor was $350 and $500 to install it. Bookshelves were $1,100. UV window tint to protect the product was $500.
From there it’s a matter of setting up accounts with major wholesalers and ordering product.
Most folks don’t realize this, but in general, the markup on books is around 35% to 55% depending on the publisher and the service.
I bought a bunch of nice Halloween stock for $6.50 a book, retail is $28.95, which is ridiculous. I’m selling them for $12.95 and still making money on them.

Just learning how vinyl cutters work. Cricut is the big one, but I picked up a Silhouette Cameo 5 Alpha Plus.
Here’s the problem:
The vast majority of people have never seen the works of the old masters in person, only copies on their devices or pictures in print.
When you see a painting like that in person, the texture and brush strokes interact with the light in the room to give you a completely luminous experience.
But more to the point, that experience cannot be reproduced digitally. Even a photograph of the actual Mona Lisa is inferior to actually seeing the Mona Lisa.
I encourage everyone, where possible, to get to your local museums and see what you can see. It’s a wonderful experience!
The last few bubbles completely wiped out people who had 401k accounts. They were absolutely devastated, but if they stayed in, it rebuilt with interest… just in time to be wiped out when the next bubble pops.
It will happen again. Folks that have money in the stock market right now will be jumping off buildings in the next few years.
The only people who can avoid being cancelled are the ones with no fame. If you have become famous, it can always be taken away.
Look at Mother Teresa, arguably one of the most famous people during her life.
After she died? It came out that she was in fact a horrible human being, and now she’s largely forgotten.
There is no level of fame that insulates you, only a lack of fame.

My wife is totally into vinyl but I keep telling her, the best it will ever sound is the first time you play it and it degrades just a little bit every time the needle hits it.
CDs are consistent. The same data every play, and it’s easier to rip them to digital.

When we bought a house, two of our neighbor cats had litters so we took in Lorelei (8) and Willow (9).
