Happy birthday!

2 years ago I chose lemm.ee because I was worried about the popularity of .world and whether they would be able to survive that or not.

Turns out I was very wrong and you all have done fine while I am faced with the very situation I was trying to avoid.

Sort of, but I lose the history on this account and have to start over. All of my saved posts won’t come, so I have to manually comb through and save what I want to save. I guess shame on me for diving into such a new and underdeveloped platform but damn.

I’ve been around just as long and definitely didn’t see more than the 1 round so I’m not sure how I missed the other posts. Doesn’t matter now I guess.

I don’t think this is correct. I’m on lemmee and I’m probably just done at this point. I don’t have the energy to migrate to another instance and set things up just to have that instance close up shop again later.

I think the annoying kids in restaurants stereotype we’re talking about are usually when the parents of the kids are ignoring the behavior rather than trying to teach their kids anything.

Your ideal scenario here is fine but 99% of the time when I’m super irritated at kids its because the parents are ignoring and/or downplaying the affect their kids have on other people.

Just having a child is not enough, parents also need to be helping to make the world a better place.

This puts a lot of trust in the vets and vet staff, I don’t think I’d be comfortable with it. I definitely see the benefits but it seems like owners should accompany the pet to the visit, at least for the exam portion. It’s too much of an opportunity for good communication between the vet and the owner, especially since the pet can’t speak for themselves.

Can you clarify what you’re saying? Do you mean that your immune levels are low as an adult despite getting the MMR vaccine three times instead of two as a child?

Yeah it’s mostly the world and everyone in it. I try to give my parents grace for the decision they made before the internet existed and before the reality of the world was so widely known. But if I were born in the last ~10 years or so, I don’t think I could ever get over it?

Then again, being born today and not experiencing what the world could be like with decorum, maybe it’s not as traumatic to have never experienced it?

The longer I exist I in this world the more upset I am that I was born without consent. I cannot imagine being a child born to the world that exists today, no way I could ever forgive a parent bringing me into this, at least in the US.
