Youre better off asking why women overall are more likely to read. It follows that more women would be authors. And it gets even worse if you’re looking at book club participation where women are much more likely to participate ime as the frequent only man at book clubs.

For your fantasy book authors, you probably were expecting the opposite because society historically pushed male authors to the forefront and you can still see this today where many people will list their top fantasy books and not a single woman author can be found. This is either inadvertent or intentional sexism.

Instead of asking yourself why he didn’t fight for you and your relationship, tell yourself that you are worth more than that. I know it’s easier said than done but the idea is to have some self worth and to know your worth. Don’t let people walk over you, and that also means don’t give a get out of jail free card for any unknown thing he may have done. That is belittling to yourself and you’re worth more than that. He made a choice, and if he doesn’t want to fight for you then don’t fight for him.

Beyond that, find a new hobby or interest and dive into that. Bonus points if it is some kind of group where you meet new people. Find ways to be happy with yourself before the next relationship.

I think this is a very doom and gloom way of thinking about it. If a particular place becomes too shit then I’ll quit going to that place. But quit the internet altogether? Doubtful. People are already putting ai free disclaimers on their sites and i expect that to continue. Perhaps there will even be a network of verified ai free sites.

Will things continue to get bad? Sure. But the fact that you are even asking this suggests that there are other people out there that want to see things differently.

There’s also the option of renting which would provide more freedom as I’m still young, freedom of movement and all of that.

Imo if you don’t know if you want to buy vs rent a house then you’re not ready to buy a house (or it isn’t your dream house). So the choice is clear imo to stay with your current arrangement. You can continue to save, get free childcare, and spend time with your parents-- they won’t be around forever.

Yes it feels sketchy but the major credit bureaus already have a file on you regardless. It is a bit of a hassle to do the freezes but the reality is that with so many data beaches out there, someone could easily steal your identity and open up accounts under your name if they wanted. This makes that much harder for them to do.

Suspended for being the target of violence. I didn’t even fight back but the zero tolerance policy also meant i got suspended too. It was a random event from someone who i had never interacted with so it wasn’t like i provoked them into stabbing me.
