This isn’t new. I noticed this back in ~2001.

People are just catching up to me.

Yeah, that resonates with me.

I didn’t have any political reasons. I just grew to dislike the writing style. I became disenchanted by the style of the videos.

I love how the NPM CEO gave him the tool/command to remove all his work from the platform. What a dummy.

I also support the idea that he should be allowed to remove his work. It should have been republished according to the license. With a forked new name. IMO. But I know what a nightmare that would be.

It’s missing the latent bug.

The thing is, you need to make proper PDFs with properly structured content with proper metadata for screen readers to be able to access the content in the PDF in a logical and sane way. This is what the OP is tasked to do, and why they are looking for help. So I’m not sure what you mean by “try just using screen readers.”

I’m dealing with this right now too.

My advise is to ditch the PDFs where possible, and go with HTML documents. They are far easier to make accessible. The down side is you can’t easily pass them around in a self contained way that isn’t a bit wonky compared to a PDF or DOCX. But if you just link to them in a course, or otherwise expect students to just access them in a browser, HTML pages can work well.

PDFs have always been a nightmare, and the new accessibility rules are making thousands of people in education finally realize that.

Why can’t they hack them right now?

Those last things you listed were all true of Flash too:

1. Back forward buttons, working in a flash site?
2. Scroll bars? Same thing.
3. CPU usage? Same thing. (See: phone performance.)
4. Crashes? It was the number one cause of crashes as reported by Apple when looking at their Safari crash logs. This was true of many plugins of that style from back in the day (being unstable).

Damn passwords. 2FA should have fixed that. 😔
