Nah the guy on the right understands that AI means almost anything. Hell, even the A* pathfinding algorithm falls under the realm of AI.

They really are! We should use tools for what they are good at and not try to cram AI into everything. Something something hammer, nail, right?
To be fair, I’ve worked with people who do the exact same thing. Always making excuses but somehow never actually finishing their work.
Except… at least AI is polite about it.
Pennomi@lemmy.worldto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What is one moral you have that most people don't agree with?English113·5 days agoI totally agree. Intellectual property is a capitalist myth created only for the purpose of beating other people away from progress.
Any civilized society would believe in the free commerce of ideas.
Pennomi@lemmy.worldto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What is one moral you have that most people don't agree with?English13·5 days agoKids are crazy smart of you don’t baby them their whole lives. Talk to them like responsible adults and (surprise!) they’ll learn to behave in responsible adult like ways.
I just got done reading a post about 40k (Warhammer) and got sad that you had to pull your entire army off the field.
I mean I guess pulling your 401k is a sign of impending doom too.
The difference is that aged people tend to forget their training more. I’m not worried about the youngins.

Like… temperature doesn’t really exist, it’s really just an average of kinetic energy of particles. But that doesn’t stop it from being a useful concept!
I mean, a lot of people can also charge at home. It’s way cheaper and more convenient.
As much as people like to shit on them due to the connection to Musk, they can be good cars with some caveats.
- The electronic door handles are bullshit and dangerous.
- The touch console is not as good as physical climate controls. Everything else commonly used can be done through the steering wheel controls for the most part.
- Service centers have really poor service, but since they’re EVs you shouldn’t need to do it often. (Unless it’s a Cybertruck lol).
Buying used is great because you don’t send that money to Musk. In fact the updates and support technically cost them over time.
When the age gap is greater than her age…
But honestly at 34 you’re mature enough to marry anyone older than you.
The reasons keep on stacking up.
Generally only for small problems. Like things lower than 300 lines of code. And the problem generally can’t be a novel problem.
But that’s still pretty damn impressive for a machine.

Python raw strings to the rescue!
To be fair, I trust ChatGPT to not make typos a hell of a lot more than Trump’s people. AI might be wrong at a high level but it usually gets the little details like typos right.
Pennomi@lemmy.worldto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•It's my 54th BD, left a $83K IT job last summer, interviewing at Lowe's tomorrow. Is it weird I'm looking forward to it?English30·3 months agoThat’s literally the plot of Stardew Valley. Leaving the world of digital work in favor of something more tangible is a dream come true for many of us.
Okay back in the days of IRC, I met this script kiddie who said he’d hack me, just give him my IP address. So I sent him his IP address and he disappeared suddenly.
There’s a shit ton of modern AIs that are actively talked about and aren’t LLMs. What about AlphaFold? Or StableDiffusion, or the reinforcement learning running Boston Dynamic’s robots, or like, every computer vision classification task ever, or the software behind Waymo, or GANs like they use in Snapchat filters? Heck, people still consider Deep Blue an AI even though it’s completely obsolete today.
People still call this stuff AI (because it is) even though most of them have nothing to do with LLMs.
