We have three Indian restaurants in the neighbourhood - tiny provincial town in Markgräflerland - and they’re surprisingly good. But I did notice when I lived in Brandenburg that they have the Scottish attitude towards food. Deep fry everything. Including sushi.

My neighbour just mowed the lawn (we take turns). Was the grass long? No. It’s dead. We’re in our 5th heatwave this year.

She only mowed the clover (which is (was) doing well) and the wild flowers that the other neighbour mowed around. What was (dead) grass is now dirt.

Quite. Autistic people are just as likely to behave badly as people who aren’t neuro divergent.

But vegan doesn’t mean “only eats vegetables”. You can be vegan and only eat bread (seriously, I met one of those a couple of months ago, militant dude too. Pointed out that being vegan is easy “because you only need carbs.”)

Other countries (like the Netherlands) are starting to grow it now because climate change means it’s much harder to grow things like potatoes.

I was at a scientific conference a while ago and someone said “did you know there’s a piece of software that can check if any of your papers have been scraped by AI?” So everyone checked. And everyone’s papers had been scraped. Everyone’s.

I followed a language course and had to hand in a text every week. Everyone else would write matter of fact stuff while I would verge wildly off topic with stories. The teacher told me she enjoyed them and that I should continue after the course is finished, so I write short stories now.
