vithigar@lemmy.cato Selfhosted@lemmy.world•That's all folks, Plex is starting to charge for sharingEnglish41·8 days agoI had exactly the same experience, at about the same time. Had been hearing good things about Plex so decided to try it out. Immediately noped out when it required me to create an account with them. Similar to you I looked around and found it to be a relatively new change.
Frankly baffling to me that anyone with the wherewithal to self-host was okay with it.
There’s an edge case where you want the guys in balaclavas to show up.

If adding 10kg of payload didn’t mean also potentially many times more mass of propellant we’d be sending up more robust spacecraft, no question.

string foo = @"This string has a line break!";
You stated the reason yourself. Those are different values and matching in a case-insensitive manner is more work under the hood.
I’d argue that Li should be red and Hg should be yellow.
Elemental mercury in liquid form is fairly safe. It needs to get into your blood in order to be a problem, and even if some does stick to your tongue and get swallowed the digestive absorption is extremely low.

vithigar@lemmy.cato Selfhosted@lemmy.world•which softwares can I self host without public IP?English71·2 months agoBecause of the XY problem. The problem OP is stating may not actually be the source of the issues OP is experiencing.
Finding out what OP is trying to do will better inform a solution and may make the stated problem irrelevant.
Tell that to the person who implemented Tetris in Postgresql.

That’s exactly what we ended up doing. Every story has now become one Fibonacci step higher than it would have been before.
Management where I work finally unbent and admitted that story points were time.
…but also want to continue raising velocity in each sprint.
vithigar@lemmy.cato Selfhosted@lemmy.world•Is it a good idea to purchase refurbished HDDs off Amazon ?English0·7 months agoI wouldn’t buy a new Seagate drive, let alone a refurbished one. Every Seagate I’ve ever owned died in less than five years. Every WD I’ve owned lasted until long after their capacity was so far outpaced by newer drives as to be useless.
Anecdotal, yes, but it’s happened enough to me that I’ve been soured on them for life.
it’ll just let you do that
Pretty much sums up JavaScript’s entire philosophy.
The former.
