“The blood of the martyrs is the seed of the church”

The fuck does that even mean? They get off on the blood of martyrs?

Jesus said there is no greater act of love than to lay down your life for someone else. Protestants use martyrdom to subvert that to mean that dying for your faith is the greatest act of love towards god.

Something something gun to your head and you’re dead if you don’t renounce Christ. IYKYK.

Absolutely. The modern evangelical church is full of people who are incredibly excited about Kirk’s grisly death.

He’s shaping up to be the First Protestant Saint (outside, maybe, Joseph Smith).

Charlie Kirk = Jesus (minus the racism and homophobia and disregard for the poor of course, but basically the same thing).

Any church advocating violence in a positive light, even martyrdom, always makes me suspicious about how much of the Bible they actively ignore/follow. Also, this draws a direct line from violence to benefiting the church, not god, his kingdom, the world, or even your fellow man. Just go die to support a building and its non-profit corp.
