While I sorta agree with this, Red Bull has enough experience with failing second drivers that they predict that the chances of Lawson improving into consistent top 5 finishes are low. Gasly and Albon didn’t do it and neither did Perez when his performance tanked.
Also leaving Lawson in a car he has zero confidence in is also not good for his self esteem. Better to put him in a car where he can race against the mid field with confidence.
