My point was, as per OP, if we banned it now, there would still be a large portion claiming outrage. Either because they profit from it, or it effects a product they use or collect.
there are people who still collect items with asbestos, mostly because it’s still the cheapest form of high temperature insulation (assuming no fines or harm compensation).
Plastic is much more harmful than asbestos ever was. (Try banning it)
