A body that isn’t rapidly degrading before I’m even 30.
I had a couple more grocery store stops to make tonight but decided to go home instead because my body hurts and i wanted to stop moving for a while.
Granted, I am fat and sedentary
Meh, fuck Chick-fil-A anyway.
Its not the games so much as the resolution; I’m at 4K, watchdogs 2 struggles and i had to drop settings a bit to maintain 50+ fps.
Esir: also i want to play Avowed at 60 FPS. Love the universe and played both Pillars of Eternity games, enjoyed the tutorial island of Avowed, just wanna enjoy buttery smooth combat.
Lock down permissions to what is actually necessary to function, then expand permissions as i feel they need them.
I built at a good time, micro center had the 9800x3d in stock at MSRP 😁 i should be good for 5+ years from now
Also i was upgrading from a ryzen 7 3800X (predating the x3d line) and to 100% NVME storage (4tb gaming drive and a 1tb boot drive)
I built a gaming PC back in January for this purpose, unfortunately GPUs are impossible to get so I’m stuck in a 2080 TI (which is showing its age). Tempted to pay ebay scalper prices ($300+ above MSRP for a 9070 XT), beats paying tariffs and prevents that extra money going to fund whatever new atrocities my government intends to commit.
Also got a nice motorized sausage stuffer.
Need to actually guarantee holidays off. Most people already don’t get federal holidays off.
May the cat distribution system quickly rectify this… wrongness. Two there should be, no more, no less. A Master and an apprentice.
Housing as an investment is wrong.
The price of basic human needs should not be tied to the rise and fall of the stock market, nor should ones retirement depend on the hyper inflated values of houses. 500K+ for a small house is absolute price gouging bullshit, regardless of location.
Worse, grocery store deli / hot food counter. Frequent switching between ready to eat food and raw ingredients, and shitty gloves that constantly ripped open.
My hands look awful, but any scars are literally from my crappy skin cracking horribly from 3 years of food service hand washing. Frequent handwashing is brutal if you have bad skin…
I think one if the more stressful shit i saw was a bad driver update that made a specific model laptop completely unable to boot, unless you could get into BIOS to disable audio, then fully purge the audio driver (it was a hidden driver) and do a clean install.
This, with a 5 digit userbase in one location, with most of them having that specific model laptop, while working desktop support. It was practically an IT drive thru at one point.
DoD IT, hell of a way to start out with large scale xD
Any major tech upgrade or software investment can be canceled on a whim; i no longer get emotionally attached to projects.
The downside is there is no summer/winter break. I’m at the point that I’m severely burnt out; i have had exactly 1 vacation in the 10 years since i got out of school, and it was a little over a week long several years ago.
My paid time off sits unused because it pays out if i quit or lose my job, and i will need that cash. I desperately could use a solid month off without being penalized for “existing while not outputting labor”, and it most likely just isn’t going to happen.
A week? What is this, professional hour?! Try a few years.
Disassociate and make funny small talk while i internally have an anxiety attack.
I switched to Tidal recently; it feels a bit featureless in some areas. No Mono Audio mode (i frequently have 1 earbud in at work, don’t like hearing only half the audio.)
Shuffle is either on or off, theres no way i see to set it by playlist/album
Gaming teaches you how to navigate menus and utilize hotkeys to improve efficiency (at least on PC).
Star Wars: Clone wars, Bad Batch, and Rebels.
All animated, very much not cutesy little kid stuff. War, trauma, death, PTSD for soldiers, all of it. Its also something special to watch a sith lord murder their way out of a ship using nothing but the force.
Edit: oh, movies, my bad. Hmm, thats a little trickier for me.
