  • I think people didn’t like how season 2 was filmed. It was non linear. Which was intentional because it’s like it was from Bernard’s perspective and he had brain damage and couldn’t remember or experience things linearly.

I also think a lot of people did not understand this. Even at the end of the season.

It was really a season that had to be watched twice.

I quite liked this artistic approach. But it did not sit well with most people.

I also thought the themes of Westworld are very interesting. It’s basically about what counts as autonomy. Are humans programmed ? What counts as a life. And the last season is about what happens if we destroy ourselves. And also delvs into the concept of copies of ones self and what that means.

A lot of philosophy in that show.

  • If you like weird stuff like LOST. Convoluted mysteries, scifi, and horror.

This is not in any order. And I am a big film and TV show buff so Ive managed to find a lot of the good stuff (imo) and I’ll share it with you.

    1. OA (cancelled after 2 seasons on cliffhanger but super good and unexpected)
    2. From (has Michael from LOST, ongoing)
    3. Westworld. (Last season was meh but the others were good but convoluted)
    4. Dollhouse (little older, smaller budget production, but solid)
    5. Severance (ongoing)
    6. Devs. (Single season completed story)
    7. 1899 (same creators as dark. Watch in original language as it makes more sense).
    8. Foundation (ongoing. Maybe 1 more season)
    9. The Peripheral (2 seasons. Cancelled on cliffhanger but really good).
    10. Silo (on going)
    11. Night sky (really wish it had a second season but still good for 1. Has sissy spacek in it)
    12. Travelers (finished up. On par with dollhouse production quality)
    13. Brave new world. (Complete in 1 season)
    14. Fringe. (A favorite of mine. Akin to x files but more goofy. )
    15. Dune prophecy. (I liked it but not everyone does. Has 2nd season confirmed.)
    16. Channel zero. (Each season is its own horror/psychology story. It’s very good except last season imo.)
    17. 3 body problem. (Good so far)
    18. Lost in space (first 2 seasons good but third…meh)
    19. Tales from the loop. (This is a weird ass show but very captivating)
    20. The stand (newer one but old one good too).
    21. It welcome to Derry. (So good)
    22. Alien earth (basically aliens and blade runner mixed together).
    23. American gods. (Falls off a bit near final season)
    24. The magicians. (Adult Harry Potter and everyone is “cool” and smokes. But I did quite like it).
    25. maniac (weird trippy and underrated)
    26. Monsterland (it’s weird and I loved it,)
    27. Fall of the House of usher. (Newer one and it’s very good).
    28. Dream corp llc. (Absurdist scifi humor and very psychedelic)
    29. What we do in the shadows. (Comedy, unlike most of the others,).
    30. Legion. (An all time favorite. I thought 2nd season had some boring chunks).
    31. Loki
    32. Dexter.

    Unrelatew to current theme :

    1. Broad city (comedy, two young women in new York and shenanigans).

    Some animations.

    1. Ugly Americans (funny, dark)
    2. Venture bros (funny and sometimes a little dark)
    3. The tick (just funny)
    4. Adventure time (humor, fantasy and scifi)
    5. Futurama (scifi humor)
    6. Scavengers reign (body horror, scifi)
    7. Pantheon (dark sci-fi,)
    8. American dad (I just like Roger a lot)
    9. South Park (you get that it’s satire if you are an adult. It’s all satire. Even first season.)
    10. JoJo’s bizarre adventure. (It’s an anime. It’s campy. Though the very first season is really a completely different story. You can skip it to start with).
    11. Cowboy bebop. (Scifi . The anime is funny and sad and good writing)
    12. Space dandy. (My all time favorite anime, it’s hilarious and campy. Scifi based)
    13. Archer

  • Ohhhh. Yes. I do know what you are talking about. I just forgot that abbreviation . I think the more modern ant aliasing “type” is called something else. I feel like there are multiple options on a lot of games (on steam at least) ??

Yeah I really don’t like the jagged edges. It’s Pretty common in all switch games. But if the resolution is already low and then you apply a basic blur fix , it just makes the resolution look even lower and a loss of details.

So there are trade offs. And there are more sophisticated ways to resolve the jagged edges that are less destructive to the quality.

I’ve not seen the motion fade effect before ,(the video you sent) but that would give me terrible motion sickness.

I’m not sure if this feature has been updated in the new version of the game. But maybe.

I watched a video about a month ago where a review went into depth on the changes. Made by someone who had played the original. They said it fixed a lot of things players had been complaining about.

  • No shame on playing games on story mode or “easy”.

It’s more important to me I enjoy the game than impress an invisible audience with playing on normal or hard.

Plus typically the only difference is how much damage you do or take.

So you spend less time fighting enemies. And more time progressing the games story. Which is what I play for.

I’ve heard a few people say they put this game down cause of the difficulty.

I’m like…then lower the difficulty settings? Why not?

  • Hellblade. Senua’s sacrifice

I don’t particularly like “medieval” games. Which I thought this was. It isn’t. But I played it because I heard somewhere it was a psychological game. It is.

It also was cheap when I bought it. Like $10.

I really like it. I ended up watching all the dev log videos on it. I have a background in psychology and was rather impressed by how many things in the game are based on the perception distortions common in schizophrenia.

Like the mask thing is part of that too. The pattern matching from perspectives. Seeing faces in trees or rocks (paraedolia). That’s all part of the condition.

The story itself was also very good and it is a personal story of her journey.

However that said. Hellblade 2 was awful in every way that made the first one good. Bad puzzles. No real personal journey. Story was garbage. And very little player autonomy. No exploration. Fixed speeds and at the start of every single enemy encounter, the enemy, a man, beats the piss out of you.

Almost to the point it felt exploitive, and for people who like watching men beat up women.

Sad to see the 2nd so terrible. But the first is brilliant. It’s also the perfect length. Not too long.
