I wonder if a lot of us will identify here?

Since I can remember, ive been an “escapist”. Always reading books, or playing story games, or going to a treehouse or cave to “hideout” in.

When i was older, driving hours to nowhere after work, almost daily (not as much now).

Never really had modern tech. Always preferred older tech even when i was young. Was never swayed by “better graphics” of newer systems. Nowadays I like most systems, but still prefer pre Xbox 360. Or PC.

Even now, my basement is setup as a 70s-90s room to hang out in. Its great. Side note I have always preferred basements and I love caves. Not sure why. Maybe something from the ancestors. Maybe I am a mole.

I don’t use popular social media or watch most popular TV shows.

Maybe its because the world sucks. I’m not really depressed or anything like that. I just prefer my own worlds. If it was a more recent thing I’d get it since the world is going downhill fast, but ive just always preferred this.

I just think its interesting.

Very much the same. I have specific interests too and dont live in an area around people who share them (moral and hobbies).

Its just hard to find folks to hang out with. They either have families, only want to hang out at bars, or are obsessed with staring at tik Tok on their phones and talking about right wing conspiracies.

The good part is I also enjoy just being by myself most of the time. I’m really good at not being bored.
