Banning money lending has historically been about as effective as banning alcohol/drugs, gambling, prostitution, etc. People are going to do it, no matter what, so you might as well make it legal and regulate it well.

You can lend money, just don’t make profit out of it. I lend money all the time to friends and have never asked for anything in return except for the amount I gave, and even then it’s better to let go of that. But ofc in the absence of moral ideology and values, people won’t know right from wrong, won’t police themselves and society will slowly degenerate. Only in a dysfunctional group do you have to enforce basic things all the time and for everyone instead of just a minority of antisocial misfits/mentally ill individuals (and, personally, I just refuse to capitulate to immorality just because it exists, that’s for lesser men).

Oh, man, I’m not even going to try to tackle everything that’s wrong with what you just wrote. But, seriously…”lesser men?” LOL.

I mean, of course. “Everyone’s doing immoral stuff so let’s just allow it, legalize it even” is the take of a person who’s either simply uncaring, extremely lazy/helpless or benefiting in some way from it. Those are not characteristics of anyone respectable, right?
