I don’t see why they would use AI instead of picking an appropriate image or making something quick in Gimp or paint, it just makes me not want to be part of those communities.

Don’t worry, I don’t think all furries or anarchists are pro-AI, I meant that it saddens me to see people part of the community be pro-AI
Most furries I know are artists, and most anarchists I know are pro-humans, for example.
And true, I did not really check which instance each community was in, but I did know it was possible to browse communities of other instances, I chose piefed.zip because it did not seem to block (or “defederalize” I think some say?) other instances, I want to be able to choose myself what I block
I’ll probably start blocking those that I see have AI icons
