I often come across posts where people are discussing the logic of a movie or comic book. An example could be Star Wars, where they discuss how a light saber works. Or which superheroes would win in a fight against each other. To me, it seems pointless to discuss such things as it is fiction. Just an insight into someone else’s imagination.
You’re that guy in the comic yelling at everyone to “Stop having fun!”.
I never asked them to stop. I asked them why.
Why have fun? :) Actually that’s fair, I hope the answers you are getting provide some insight and aspects to consider.
In a way, what you are doing asking why people would discuss such topics, is not too far as an idea from someone asking why one superhero would win against another or how a lightsaber would work against some fictional material. It is about sharing and discussing ideas that are or can be interesting.
I do get some insight as others in this post seems to get my point and explain WHY they think it’s interesting. I’m well aware that people have different interests.
