One could argue that goodness without the capacity for badness isn’t a virtue. For some it’s just a survival tactic. It’s the only tool on their belt. A truly good person has the capacity to do harm when the situation requires it but they can keep that side of them at bay when it’s not needed. They’re kind but can’t be walked over. When shit hits the fan, the person who can only do good is of no use to anyone.
