Me too. We’re having to put our little guy to sleep tonight, he’s too ill. They’re pretty sure it’s cancer, but he’s not stable enough for diagnosis let alone treatment. The poor guy’s had basically a soda can’s worth of fluid drained from his chest cavity twice in the last 2 months.
I’m so sorry. I hope you’re okay. I had a cat die suddenly a month ago and its been rough. Please take care of yourself.
My wife is hurting worse than me. He got her through the pandemic, and they really bonded. I opened the cat flap this morning and pulled out his food before I remembered he was gone. Been a tough Saturday.

Sounds like you both have a lot of love to give. Hopefully both your hearts heal smoothly. One day at a time.
My sincerest sympathies. You can comfort yourself with the fact that you’re doing the right thing for him by ending his illness and whatever discomfort/pain there may be.
We had to do the same with our little guy last year. He had kidney problems, and we gave him a saline drip twice a day for about a year. He never complained. But at a certain point you have to consider that you’re just prolonging their suffering, as hard as that is to accept.
That’s him away now. I’m just happy he wasn’t hurting yet. With the way things were going he probably would have had massive heart failure which is hardly pleasant.
