I replied to someone saying that the USSR defeated the Nazis saying that it was a group effort. Got into an argument and called a Nazi repeatedly because “I was mad that the USSR defeated the Nazis and hated them for it” which is ridiculous. This isn’t the first time that’s happened on Lemmy. What’s up with that?

    My time on Lemmy drastically improved when I blocked the “Tankie Triad”, which is Lemmygrad, Hexbear, and Lemmy(dot)ml. I also unsubscribed from anything .ml and manually searched for the next most-popular non-tankie community for that topic.

    I don’t care if you have different beliefs than me, but tankies are unreasonable, trolling, and biased, in both content and moderation. They’re not around to discuss anything in good faith…

      Yeah, those places should be covered by the FAQ or something.

      A much better solution would be for every other instance to just defederate them.

        I mean - its literally the paradox of tolerance. Tankie instances wont let you speak freely. Tankies are free to spam their shit here though. Notice how you have not been banned yet?

        So basically you don’t lose much by blocking the tankie triad. It just means you can discuss without randomly being blocked/banned. There are most definitely other instances/commukities that ban people for bad reasons, and I would promote blocking them too. Fuck the power tripping mods/admins.
