Seriously. People are all materialistic vapid assholes, billionaires rule the world and we’re letting them because we’re so fucking lazy and busy with following shithead influencers and taking selfies of our fake happiness.

The planet is on the brink. Is this it? I see dogs in the park… So pure hearted it hurts knowing they are stuck with us. With owners that leave them alone all day and walk them for a few minutes to make themselves feel better. They all have purebred dogs too because they use them as a fashion statement or what ever.

King Pedohile is threatening the whole world and again, we’re just letting him.

How did we get here? Is it because of our big fucking brains?

Its complicated. Capitalism is likely a big part of it. Lack of connection is part. Lack of empathy/care for others a is a part. All of these (and more) feed back into each other. For example, Capitalism feeds wealth to those who act badly. Seeing the worst people become more powerful reduces trust, and thus empathy/care. Lack of empathy/care makes connections between people worse. Lack of connection makes it harder to organize against bad actors. Address any of those factors, and the loop is weakened or broken, but all of those are hard to fix and reinforce each other. This means there is no single reason, and no easy fix.

I like and agree with your analysis. Very well structured.

The connection thing really hits home for me, because I used to have so many friends and I would love chatting and making friends with random strangers on MMORPGs. People liked socializing then.

Then those players stopped talking much, just started running around a huge multiplayer world solo, ignoring anybody not already in their “circle”. . .and that’s when I realized everyone started to approach real life the same way.

Now if someone randomly decides to talk to you, the default assumption is they probably have an angle.

We’ve all been put into atomized little boxes and even though the absolute wonders of long distance instant communication have come leaps and bounds, it’s mainly used for work. Jobs and social media bubbles split us all up and filled that time and space with themselves.
