I’m here from Reddit. They banned me for absolutely no reason. That’s frustrating. How works Lemmy ?

It’s just like Reddit. Except non-fascist. And karma doesn’t mean anything. In other words, it’s much better!

But still plenty of authoritarians who will tell you fascists are a better option than the better options.

You can block posts marked as NSFW in your settings. Well moderated instances require their users to properly tag their NSFW content.

Some instances have rules against posting NSFW altogether or place limits on what can be posted.

You can also block just single users.

Blocking is temporary and one-way. It only means you don’t see them or their content. More of a “hide”, really.

          At least that’s my understanding.

You can block users, communities, and instances (maybe only instances can block entire instances?).

There really aren’t a lot of hornyposting on here though. There’s basically zero OF and the only hornyposters are people doing it by hand, themselves, and are usually jokes, rather than pure thirst. Like I can name the only two users offhand that some people complain about, but if you really don’t like their content, you have all the power and right to just block them yourself.

There was also the nsfw instance, but I’m not sure if that even exists anymore. Last I saw years ago, it was basically only bots, and a few instances (incl mine) blocked it, so I literally don’t even know if it still exists.
