Pausing for 5 seconds before opening the fridge to plan what I need to get saves time and electricity by only having to open the fridge door once.
This assumes that I remember what the fuck is in there
For me the issue is that opening the fridge is a Men in Black memory flash thing. I go, “get milk!”, *opens fridge*, “… why did I open the fridge?”

As someone with severe ADHD, I found some page-sized… well… they’re whiteboard on one side and magnet on the back so they stick to the fridge. And some dry erase pens have magnets.
Of course, this assumes I keep THOSE up to date, but I sorta do. :)
