Never had a problem falling asleep. Bed, couch, chair, floor. Indoors, outdoors, as long as it’s not sweltering hot or freezing cold I’m out in under 10 min.

Speaking Spanish. Haven’t needed it in years and my actual grasp of the language is tenuous at this point but every native speaker I interact with says my pronunciation is great. Understanding the differences between English and Spanish phonetics helps a ton in that regard.

I hear you on this, I spent my late teens through my 20s and 30s living abroad and learning other languages. I’ve since moved back home and had kids. I had to break out my Spanish a few times in the past year or so and both my kids did a double take/didn’t know what the hell was happening when they saw me speaking passable/semi-fluent Spanish to native speakers.

I’m just your average stay at home Dad living in a small town nowadays but had a wildly international life before settling down. When they saw me speak another language the questions started to come out about where I had been or what I had been doing.

I hadn’t spoken about it much to my kids when they were younger but now, based on their questions, I half suspect that they think I was some sort of international spy. Nope, just a lot of wanderlust, a knack for languages and learning about the psychology of other cultures first hand.

Overtone singing. I can do Amazing Grace because the melody fits within the available notes, but I don’t like that song. Usually just sing random melodies to the dogs & they give me the head tilt.

There are so many tells with lies that they can be easy to spot once you know enough of them. Not all tells are absolute across everyone but if you know enough of the tells you can see them easily when several present themselves all at the same time.

I can find a location based on a picture.

last time I showed anyone was at work. one of my coworkers began sharing pictures of their trip through Europe while on vacation. it was kind of obnoxious, so I started to post the latitude and longitude of where the person standing was when the picture was taken along with gifs of Jason Bourne.

my coordinates were so accurate they accused me of somehow extracting the deleted geodata from the images.

it freaked everyone out, and nobody shared their vacation pictures with me again.

I can do it with video too. interestingly, I’ve even pinpointed locations and dates videos were recorded on based on what what playing on the TV or radio in the background.

the point I always try to make to people is that if I can do it, DOHS has been able to do it for even longer.

I enjoy it. if anything it helps me keep the skill sharp.

obviously the more information captured in the photo the better. most people don’t even realize how much information is in a picture they take and share online.

people post pictures of their kids at school sporting events, unknowingly giving information about age, gender, location, dates, times, etc. or folks post enough pictures on their social media to accurately draw the floorplan to their homes. even when they post shows their schedule of when they are working, sleeping, or just generally out of town.

it’s one of the many reasons why I don’t post pictures of myself or family online.

I can bend my knees backwards to about 200°. It’s just not that interesting + difficult to show off in normal pants + gives away that I’m secretly a horse.

I can write on a blackboard with both hands simultaneously, my left hand mirroring the right one.

And talking of blackboards, at some point I mastered drawing doted lines with chalk in a single stroke.

Edit: I can whistle painfully loud using my fingers, when I was a kid it was a rather common skill. Not so much now.

      Watch that video with subtitles.

I can do that loud whistle, too. My dad has season tickets for an NFL team for many years, so I went to a lot of games. I could whistle so loudly that the people in my section would flinch, and turn to glare at me. Fuck all of ya, it’s a football game!

I can impersonate a pretty good Indian accent, it’s not super culturally accepted to walk around telling people they’ve called Microsoft customer service

I used to, then I grew up. However, what I’ve found is that being able to do accents can occasionally help communicate a word. If you’re talking to someone that has a different accent and you just can’t get them to understand some particular word, pronouncing it how you think they’d pronounce it might help. It changes how certain letters and combinations are pronounced, helping the other person visualize the letters and therefore the word.

There’s times between English and Spanish where the spelling is functionally the same, but pronunciation is incredibly foreign in the other language. Words ending in -tion are “shin” in english but -cion is “see own” in Spanish. Many such words have latin roots, so the base word is similar like “communication” on “construction”.

But, first and foremost, enunciate clearly. Speaking slower doesn’t help if you’re still dragging your consonants the same way.

I can do a perfect cartoonish witch cackle. My friends love it lol.

I can also unhinge my left jaw like a snake. My jaw on that side is just flat on the top and bottom, so there’s no actual joint. I was born like this and it’s pretty painful, but seeing people get freaked out over me opening my mouth much more than it ought to is great.
