A one-time button for only one person at a time. If you press it, someone you don’t know will die, but you will receive ten million dollars.

Then the button moves on to the next person. Someone you don’t know.

Every post has an AI summary of the comments pinned at the top. You can’t disable it. It hallucinates.

Any kind of algorithm that determines what I see. I get to cultivate my own experience by collecting what I like and muting/blocking what I don’t. I don’t need a script that says, “Oh, I see you stopped for a moment to check the comments on a single post on c/roombaswithfeet. Here’s a nonstop barrage of everything else in that community and all related communities.”

Karma, a full JavaScript interface that is flashy, and an AI auto moderator. We must imitate reddit if we want to destroy Lemmy properly /s

I don’t see how one more shitty frontend for lemmy would ruin anything. Just add it to the pile.

Why do you think so? I don’t believe it has such an impact. Karma is nice for some people because of whatever reasons they have and everyone else just don’t care about it.

Only impact I can see is communities requiring Karma to post. But that shouldn’t be too much of an issue for most users.

Karma systems invalidate someone’s way of thinking. You may not realize how much people will say or do anything to feel better about themselves seeing a stupid number go up. And the more meaningless points that a user has, they get a god complex by thinking they can say or do no wrong.

A lot of the people I’ve confronted on this platform and in the past, are assholes with lots of points.

I don’t see the point in karma systems at all. It isn’t about making posts the most seen. It’s about people chasing validity.
